Put security ahead of breakfast
For a 6 a.m. domestic flight, the Port of Seattle advises arriving two hours before departure. The Port of Seattle advises three hours for an international flight and says checkpoint waits during peaks can reach 45 to 60 minutes. Checkpoint 4 runs 24 hours and is closest to the Central Terminal and B and C. At 4 a.m., Checkpoints 1, 2 and 3 open near A and S. Checkpoint 1 is at the south end of Baggage Claim. Checkpoints 5 and 6 open near C, D and N. You can reach every gate from any checkpoint.
If you’re bringing your own breakfast, use our guide to taking food through security. Finish any coffee or tea before screening, as the Port of Seattle advises.
If your gate is at N or S
N and S are separate gate areas reached by the airside SEA Underground. You cannot walk to them from the main concourses. Take the Green Line between N, C and D, or the Blue Line between S, A and B. To switch loops, take the Yellow Line between A Station and D Station. A train arrives every three minutes on each loop.
If your first choice is closed
If Starbucks at A3 is closed, try Hudson in A Concourse for snacks. It lists daily hours of 3:45 a.m. to midnight. After security, you can walk between A, B, C and D. Qdoba by B1 stays open 24 hours.
